Be it resolved by the City Council of Batesville, State of Arkansas a resolution entitled:
A Resolution authorizing the Mayor of Batesville to apply for a grant on behalf of City of
Batesville.
WHEREAS,the Batesville City Council has determined that the City of Batesville meets eligibility
requirements necessary to apply for a grant under the GIF Funded Community Enhancement
Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City of Batesville has presented plans to improve the streetscape in the Historic
Commercial District by adding new park benches, trash receptacles, cigarette waste
receptacles, shelters in the pocket park, and a message board; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Batesville, Arkansas recognizes the need for the project, concurs
its importance, and supports the city in its efforts to proceed with the same; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the Mayor, Rick Elumbaugh is hereby authorized to
submit an application of formal request to the Arkansas Rural Development Commission for
purposes of securing state grant funds in the amount of$33,810.00 to aid and assist the city in
executing the proposed project described herein and that the Mayor or Recorder/Treasurer of
Batesville is further authorized to administer the grant funds for the same project.
