• AN ORDINANCE BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE,ARKANSAS
AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE THE
PURCHASE OF A NEW LED REIL LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR THE BATESVILLE
AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Batesville Airport has applied for a grant to purchase a new LED REIL
Lighting System to promote power savings and to assist pilots in locating the Batesville Airport;
and
WHEREAS, the total purchase price of the LED REIL Lighting System is Forty Two
Thousand Dollars ($42,000.00), more or less.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
• BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the Batesville Airport has applied for a grant to purchase the LED
REIL Lighting System.
SECTION 2. That said system is to be purchased for the approximate sum of Forty Two
Thousand Dollars ($42,000.00), more or less.
SECTION 3. That the City Council in accordance with the terms of A.C.A.§ 14-58-303
hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the
Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described lighting system for the
price set forth in Section 2 above.
EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire
the above lighting system, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary
for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effect from and after its
• passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED on this day of March, 2009.
