• AN ORDINANCE PERMITTING THE CITY OF BATESVILLE TO CONTRACT WITH
ITS EMPLOYEES,THEIR FAMILIES AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATES FOR VARIOUS
INCIDENTAL GOODS AND SERVICES.
WHEREAS, from time to time,the City of Batesville requires certain incidental goods and
services to fulfill its obligations for various projects, and
WHEREAS, from time to time,the City of Batesville finds it necessary to seek certain
incidental goods and services,often on short notice, that only a few persons or entities in our area
can provide within the time period required, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that the Mayor or his designee be permitted
to contract for such incidental goods and services with City employees,their family members or
their business associates.
NOW,THEREFORE be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Batesville,
Arkansas:
Section 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized to contract with City
employees,their family members or their business associates for certain incidental goods and
services which are outside the normal range of routine items purchased by the City.
Section 2. That this authority is limited to incidental goods and services,the total of
which shall not exceed$2,000.00 annually, for any individual City employee, family member or
business associate.
EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire
such contracts, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the
preservation of the public peace,health and safety shall take effect from and after its passage and
approval.
