AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 98-3-1 ADOPTING THE
2000 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE AND THE 2000 INTERNATIONAL
RESIDENTIAL BUILDING CODE WITHIN THE CITY OF BATESVILLE,
ARKANSAS, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: In Ordinance 98-3-1, the section listing various codes relating to
inspection activities of the City of Batesville and that part listing the Standard Building
Code, 1997 Edition is hereby changed to the 2000 International Building Code
and the 2000 International Residential Building Code and is adopted by reference
as though it was copied herein fully.
SECTION 2: SEVERABILITY: If any part of this ordinance shall be held void, such
part shall be deemed severable, and the invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining
parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: EMERGENCY CLAUSE: For the purpose of bringing the appropriate
• building codes up-to-date in a timely manner, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance being necessary for the public peace, health and safety shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage.
