RESOLUTION NO. 01-01-01
RESOLUTION OF BATESVILLE WATER UTILITIES
COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Batesville Utilities Commission, an agency of the City of
Batesville, charged with the duty and authority to construct, reconstruct, build, maintain
and repair the water and sewer treatment plants, distribution and collection systems for
the City of Batesville, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS,the Batesville Utilities Commission is charged with the
responsibility of assuring an adequate capacity of water to its customers and with the
responsibility of assuring sufficient sewer collection and sewer treatment facilities for its
customers; and,
WHEREAS,the Batesville Utilities Commission is charged with planning to meet
the needs of future growth of the City of Batesville; and,
WHEREAS,the Batesville Utilities Commission does hereby desire to better
serve its ratepayers; and,
WHEREAS, the Batesville Utilities Commission does hereby desire to
maintain good communication with the City Council of the City of Batesville; and,
WHEREAS,the Batesville Utilities Commission realizes that circumstances may
arise that require immediate attention resulting in unplanned construction and/or
rehabilitation of Batesville Utilities' lines;
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the Batesville Utilities Commission:
That the Batesville Utilities Commission shall present to the City Council of the City of
Batesville a quarterly report of construction and/or rehabilitation projects on the
Batesville Utilities System inside and outside the city limits of Batesville for the previous
three months and a report of projected construction and/or rehabilitation projects on the
Batesville Utilities System for the next three months; and,
That the Batesville Utilities Commission shall apprise the City Council of the City of
Batesville of all significant projects outside the city limits of the City of Batesville as
soon as a project comes under consideration by the Utilities Commission allowing the
City Council to have the opportunity for input before the Commissions decision making
process; and,
That the Batesville Utilities Commission shall present to the City Council of the City of
Batesville a copy of the bi-annual financial report prior to release for publication; and,
That the Batesville Utilities Commission shall provide notification of the Batesville
Utilities Commission meetings to the liaison members of the City Council of the City of
Batesville in the same manner as the Utilities Commission members are notified; and,
That every two years beginning in the year 2003 the Batesville Utilities Commission
shall provide to the City Council of the City of Batesville a review of both water and
sewer rates with a recommendation of changes to the rates of Batesville Utilities
Customers if indicated by the review.
