ORDINANCE NO. -1ooS-` j–
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2005-6-1, SECTION 4,
SUBSECTION (A), DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, in order to have a wide range of selections to choose from related to
tourism, it is necessary and expedient to enact this ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 2005-6-1, Section 4, Subsection (a) is hereby
amended as follows:
(a) Four (4) members of whom shall be owners or managers of
businesses in the tourism industry, at least three (3) of whom shall
be owners or managers of hotels, motels, or restaurants, and all of
whom shall be appointed by the governing body of the City for
staggered terms of four (4) years, as provided by Ark. Code Ann.
26-75-605(b). A member or members may live outside the City
limits of Batesville, Arkansas, but within Independence
County, at the discretion of the Batesville City Council,
however theV must be owners or managers of referenced
businesses which are located within the City limits of the City
of Batesville.
SECTION 2. EMERGENCY CLAUSE. Due to giving the appropriate time to set
certain things in motion, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and in the
interest of the public health, welfare and peace, this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage.
