�•- BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, INDEPENDENCE
COUNTY, ARKANSAS, A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED: RESOLUTION
REQUESTING PARTY PRIMARIES FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
SECTION 1: WHEREAS, The City of Batesville recognizes the need for one
desiring to run for municipal office in this municipality in 2002 in a party primary to be
able to do so;
SECTION 2: WHEREAS, The City of Batesville is committed to promote the
welfare and well-being of its citizens regardless of race, religion or political affiliation;
SECTION 3: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the city council
hereby adopts this Resolution enabling candidates in the municipality of Batesville,
Arkansas, in the 2002 elections to aspire to office by filing and running in a party primary
and that this Resolution become effective on the date of passage.
