Be it resolved by the City Council of Batesville, State of Arkansas a resolution entitled:
Application for funds for mudslide repair and slope erosion control at
Eagle Mountain Assisted Living and adjacent City utility easement
A Resolution authorizing the Mayor of Batesville, to apply for a grant on behalf of the City of
Batesville, for the mutual benefit of both the City and the White River Area Agency on Aging.
Whereas, the Batesville City Council has determined that the City of Batesville meets the
eligibility requirements necessary to apply for a grant under the GIF Funded Community
Enhancement Grant; and
Whereas, the White River Area Agency on Aging has presented plans to the City to repair
damage caused by mudslides on its property, including erosion control, to include a utility
easement owned by the City; and
Whereas the City Council of Batesville recognizes the need for the repairs and erosion
control measures, concurs in its importance, and supports the White River Area Agency on
Aging in its efforts to work with the City of Batesville in its efforts to proceed with the same;
and
Therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor of Batesville is hereby authorized to submit an
application of formal request to the Arkansas Rural Development Commission for purposes of
securing state grant funds in the amount of $150,000 to aid and assist both the City and the
White River Area Agency on Aging in executing the proposed project described herein and
that the Mayor or City Clerk of Batesville is further authorized to administer the grant funds for
the same project.
Therefore, be it further resolved that the City Council of Batesville hereby appropriates the
sum of $-0- for the project described herein.
