A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DESIGNATION OF THE CITY OF
BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS AS THE DESIGNATED MANAGEMENT
AGENCY IN THE CITY'S WASTEWATER SERVICE AREA FOR
PURPOSES OF THE STATEWIDE WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT
PLAN; AND PRESCRIBING OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (the "Commission") has been
designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") to prepare the Section 208
Statewide Water Quality Management Plan (the "Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the planning area for purposes of the Plan includes all counties in Arkansas;
and
WHEREAS, EPA regulations published pursuant to Section 208 of the Federal Water
Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972 require an annual plan update and the designation of
a management agency having the responsibilities thereto; and
WHEREAS, the Commission is the Designated Management Agency to accomplish the
continuing planning effort and will continue in that capacity;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Batesville; .

Section 1. The City of Batesville, Arkansas (the "City") hereby accepts the
designation as the Designated Management Agency for wastewater collection and treatment in
the service area of the City and assumes the duties and responsibilities related thereto as outlined
in the Plan.
Section 2. The City hereby agrees to participate in and support the continuing
Statewide Water Quality Management Planning Process as outlined in the Plan.
