• BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE COUNTY PARTY COMMITTEES
TO CONDUCT PARTY PRIMARIES FOR MUNICIPAL OFFICES
IN THE FORTHCOMING YEAR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , Ark. Code Ann Section 14-44-206 allows cities to
request partisan rather than non-partisan primary elections by
resolution; and
WHEREAS , the elected officials of the City of Batesville
have indicated a desire to return to partisan primary elections
in 1992 ; now
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the Independence County
Democratic Party Committee and the Independence County Republican
(W Party Committee are requested to conduct party primaries for all
elective Municipal Offices within the City of Batesville for the
forthcoming year .
The Municipal Clerk is directed to mail certified copies of
this resolution to the chairmen of the county party committees
and to the chairmen of the state party committees .
