A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF BATESVILLE,
ARKANSAS, TO ENTER INTO A
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH M & A
JONES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. ,
OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, Batesville has received bids for the construction
of an expansion to the Batesville Senior Citizens Center. All
bids have been reviewed and a recommendation for award has been
made by the city's architect; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Mayor and City Clerk to
sign a construction contract prior to execution of the
construction work;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City Council of
Batesville hereby declares that the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized to execute a contract with M & A Jones Construction
Company, Inc. , of Batesville, Arkansas, for a total of Two
Hundred Twenty—four Thousand Two Hundred Ten and No/100 Dollars
($224,210.00) for construction of the expansion project. Said
cost not to be exceeded without properly executed change orders.
Construction contract is being paid through a grant from the
Arkansas Industrial Development Commission.
