BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO REQUEST A MINOR PERMIT
MODIFICATION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF POLLUTION CONTROL AND ECOLOGY
TO REMOVE THE AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT WASTES OTHER THAN INCINERATOR
ASH IN THE CITY'S EXISTING ASH MONO-FILL, SETTING A SCHEDULE FOR
CLOSURE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Batesville, Arkansas, that
the Mayor of the City of Batesville is authorized to request a
minor modification to the City' s Class three ( 3 ) incineration ash
mono-fill permit to permanently remove the authority to accept
wastes other than incinerator ash in the disposal facility.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the closure of the existing
Class 3 landfill is hereby scheduled to be concurrent with the
permitting and opening of a new Class 3 ash mono-fill to be sited
on a five (5 ) acre tract which currently has a permit application
in process with the Arkansas Department of Pollution Control and
Ecology.
