L-- (- I A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF A 1965 FORD PUMPER TRUCK TO THE UNION HILL/THIDA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS, the Batesville Fire Department owns a 1965 Ford Pumper Truck that is no longer practical for the Department to maintain; and WHEREAS, the sale of the 1965 Ford Pumper Truck would raise revenue which is important to the City and the Department to purchase valuable new equipment; and WHEREAS, the Union Hill/Thida Volunteer Fire Department has expressed a real interest in the truck and has funds available to purchase the truck; now BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. The 1965 Ford Pumper Truck is old, no longQr serves the needs of the City of Batesville and has become difficult if not impossible to service because of the inability to find replacement parts. 2. The Union Hill/Thida Volunteer Fire Department has offered to purchase the truck for Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) and has the funds to pay the purchase price immediately. IL 3. The Fire Department will take all of the useable equipment off of the pumper truck except the hose reel, and sell the truck chaise and body to the Union Hill/Thida Volunteer Fire Department. 4. The purchase price of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) is at or above the fair market value of the pumper truck, and there is a very limited market for used fire trucks. 5. The sale of the truck at the purchase price stated is in the best interest of the City of Batesville, the Batesville Fire Department and the truck would be useful and beneficial to the Volunteer Fire Department. 6. The sale of the pumper truck is hereby authorized under the terms and for the reasons set out herein.
