HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-03-31-SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES OF COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MARCH 31, 2014 The Batesville City Council met in special session on March 31, at 6:00 PM at the Municipal Building. Mayor Elumbaugh called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, the following council answered present; Tommy Bryant, Margarett Henley, Paige Hubbard, Fred Krug, Douglas Matthews, Chris Poole, and David Shetron. Also present were the City Clerk and the City Attorney. Councilmember Chris Beller was absent. Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember Shetron seconded and all voted for. NEW BUSINESS A) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO A LEASE-PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH BANCORPSOUTH FOR A 2014 FRONT LOAD SANITATION TRUCK Councilmember Matthews introduced a resolution to enter into a Lease-Purchase agreement with BancorpSouth for a 2014 Front Load Commercial Sanitation truck. Councilmember Matthews moved to read the resolution by title only. Councilmember Krug seconded and the roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. Mr. Castleberry read the resolution by title only. Councilmember Bryant moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember Krug seconded. The roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. The resolution was given #2014-03-01-R. B) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2013 BUDGET Councilmember Bryant introduced an ordinance to amend the 2013 budget. Councilmember Matthews moved to suspend the rules and read the ordinance by title only. Councilmember Bryant seconded and the roll call was 7 for and 0 against. Mr. Castleberry read the ordinance by title only. Councilmember Matthews moved to further suspend the rules and waive the second and third readings. Councilmember Bryant seconded and the roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilmember Bryant seconded. The roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. The ordinance was given #2014-03-01. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Councilmember Matthews moved that the meeting be adjourned.
