SPECIAL MEETING
FEBRUARY 20, 2014
The Batesville City Council met in special session on February 20, at 5:15 PM at
the Municipal Building. Mayor Elumbaugh called the meeting to order. Upon roll call,
the following council answered present; Tommy Bryant, Margarett Henley, Fred, Krug,
Douglas Matthews, Chris Poole and David Shetron. Also present were the
Administrative Assistant, Jennifer Corter and the City Attorney. City Clerk, Denise
Johnston was absent.
Councilmember Matthews moved to approve the prepared agenda.
Councilmember Bryant seconded and all voted for.
NEW BUSINESS
A) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE LOW BID AND ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH G.A.G. BUILDERS, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
FITZHUGH PARK COMMUNITY CENTER AND AQUATIC PARK
Mayor Elumbaugh asked Parks Director, Mr. Jeff Owens to come forward to
address the council. Councilmember Bryant introduced the resolution. Mr.
Owens answered council questions and a correction to the amount in paragraph
four was noted. Mr. Castleberry read the resolution in full. Councilmember Bryant
made a motion to adopt the resolution. Councilmember Henley seconded. the
vote was 6 for and 0 against. The resolution was given #2014-02-02-R
MAYOR COMMENTS
Mayor Elumbaugh reminded the council that a groundbreaking ceremony for the
new Community Center and Aquatics Park has been set for March 3rd at the tennis
court area.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Councilmember Bryant moved that the meeting
be adjourned. Councilmember Henley seconded and all voted for.
