JANUARY 25, 2011
The Batesville City Council met in regular session on January 25, at 5:30 PM at the
Municipal Building. Mayor Elumbaugh called the meeting to order. Councilmember Matthews
gave the invocation. Upon roll call, the following council answered present; Tommy Bryant,
Paige Hubbard, Davy Insell, Fred Krug, Douglas Matthews, and Chris Poole. Also present were
the City Clerk and the City Attorney. Councilmembers Margarett Henley and David Shetron
were absent.
Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting.
Councilmember Krug seconded and all voted for.
Councilmember Insell moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember Bryant
seconded and all voted for.

NEW BUSINESS
A) RECOGNIZE MEMBERS OF THE BATESVILLE SCHOOL BOARD
Mayor Elumbaugh read a resolution recognizing members of the Batesville
School Board and proclaiming January as School Board appreciation month.
The Mayor presented each board member present with a certificate of
appreciation and commended them for their service.
B) REVIEW THE DECEMBER 31, 2010 YEAR END FINANCIALS
The council reviewed the December 31, 2010 year end financials.
C) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2010 ANNUAL BUDGET
Councilmember Matthews introduced an ordinance to amend the 2010 annual
budget. Councilmember Matthews moved to read the ordinance by title only.
Councilmember Insell seconded and the roll call count was 6 for and 0 against.
City Attorney Castleberry read the ordinance by title only. Councilmember
Bryant moved to further suspend the rules and waive the second and third
readings. Councilmember Matthews seconded and the roll call count was 6 for
and 0 against. Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt the ordinance and
Councilmember Insell seconded. The roll call count was 6 for and 0 against.
The ordinance was given #2011-01-03.
D) ENGINEER'S REPORT
City Engineer Damon Johnson addressed the council with his engineer's report.
Mr. Johnson said he nothing new to report from the last meeting but answered a
few questions from the council.
MAYOR'S COMMENTS
Mayor Elumbaugh said there will be a joint Interlocal Meeting with the county on
Tuesday February 1St at 5:30 pm at the Citizens Bank Annex.
LIAISON REPORTS
None
COUNCIL COMMENTS
Councilmember Krug thanked Andrea Brunner with the Batesville Guard for the
great article she wrote spotlighting city employees Sanford St. John, Johnny Coles and
Marty Thompson.
Councilmember Bryant thanked Mr. Steve Carpenter and Josie's Restaurant for
the appreciation dinner for city and county emergency personnel.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Councilmember Bryant moved that the meeting
be adjourned. Councilmember Insell seconded and all voted for.
