MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> MAY 13, 2003 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on May 13, at 5:30 PM at the Municipal <br /> Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember Ford gave the invocation. Upon <br /> roll call the following Councilmembers answered present: Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, <br /> Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry Pectol, and Jim Watkins. Councilmember Terrell was absent. Also <br /> present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Councilmember <br /> Cargill seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember Cargill seconded <br /> and all voted for. <br /> MAYOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mayor Biard said that he received word from the State Highway Department and said that the <br /> stoplight for the intersection of East Harrison Street and Gap Road is scheduled for 2004 and the <br /> widening of Harrison Street is scheduled to begin in 2005. <br /> The Mayor said the bids for the new rescue truck would be opened May 21. <br /> REPORT FROM SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br /> The council was given a copy of the monthly activity report from the sheriff's department. <br /> PAID BILLS REPORT <br /> The council was given a copy of the paid bills report for April, 2003. <br /> There being no further business, Councilmember Mitchum moved that the meeting be adjourned. <br /> Councilmember Gaither seconded and all voted for. <br /> JOE M.
