MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> NOVEMBER 23, 1999 <br /> The Batesville City Council met for its regular meeting on November 23, at <br /> 5:30 P.M. at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. <br /> Councilmember Bone gave the invocation. Upon roll call, all the council <br /> answered present. Also present were the City Clerk and City Attorney. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the previous <br /> meeting. Councilmember Insell seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Insell moved to approve the prepared agenda. <br /> Councilmember Cargill seconded and all voted for. <br /> PRESENTATION TO DEWEY AND DORLA ROWE <br /> Mayor Biard and the City Council presented Mr. Dewey Rowe, Jr. and <br /> Mrs. Dorla Rowe with a City jacket for their work in clearing brush at Riverside <br /> Park across the street from the Golf Course. Mr. & Mrs. Rowe spent numerous <br /> hours and about $3,500.00 of their own money making the improvements to the <br /> area. Mayor Biard noted that Mr. & Mrs. Rowe were not asked to do the <br /> improvements but took on the job on their own. <br /> PRESENTATION BY SOUTHSIDE GOVERNMENT CLASS <br /> Ms. RaShel Olson with the Southside High School Senior Government <br /> Class and Mr. Jason Weaver, teacher of the government class, addressed the <br /> council regarding Batesville's curfew. As a class project, a survey of the <br /> Southside student body, teachers, and the Independence County Sheriffs <br /> Department was conducted. Their study showed that only 25% of the students <br />
