MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> JUNE 27, 2000 <br /> The Batesville City Council met for its regular meeting on June 27, at 5:30 P.M. at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember Pectol gave <br /> the invocation. Upon roll call, all the council answered present. Also present were the City <br /> Clerk and the City Attorney. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. <br /> Councilmember Cargill seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Insell moved to approve the prepared agenda as amended. <br /> Councilmember Ford seconded and all voted for. <br /> DISCUSSION OF MAIN STREET STOP LIGHTS <br /> City employees Marty Thompson and Johnny Coles came before the council to <br /> discuss the stoplights at 3rd and Main and 4t" and Main Streets. Councilmember Insell said <br /> the Downtown Merchants wanted more time to study the stoplight situation. The council <br /> discussed the options the city could do with the stoplights. The council decided to wait on a <br /> report from Main Street Batesville and Downtown Merchants before making a decision. <br /> DISCUSSION OF LEASE FOR CHILD CARE FACILITY <br /> The Mayor read a lease agreement between the Batesville School District and the City <br /> of Batesville for a 50 year lease for property located at the East Side School Campus. The <br /> premises will be used as a public childcare facility with associated activities. Mr. Van <br /> Thomas with White River Planning and Development was present to answer question from <br /> the Council. Councilmember Cargill moved to authorize the Mayor to sign the lease <br /> agreement and Councilmember Gaither seconded. All voted for. <br />
