Councilmember Bryant introduced a resolution endorsing Townsends, Inc. to <br /> participate in the Tax Back Program. City Clerk Johnston read the resolution in full. <br /> Councilmember Shetron moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember Bryant <br /> seconded. All voted for and the resolution was given #2009-11-01-R. <br /> C) ENGINEER'S REPORT <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said City Engineer Damon Johnson was out all day and is still <br /> with the Engineering firm McGoodwin, Williams and Yates regarding the Wastewater <br /> Treatment Plant improvements. <br /> D) REVIEW PAID BILLS REPORT <br /> The council was given a copy of the paid bills report for October, 2009 for review. <br /> MAYOR COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh asked Safety Director Sharon Taylor and <br /> Cemetery/Landscape Supervisor Johnny Abbott to addresses the council regarding a <br /> recent chain saw safety class. Ms. Taylor thanked Councilmember Bryant for <br /> recommending the class and the council for allowing the City employees to attend. She <br /> said approximately 25 City employees attended the class and said the safety training <br /> was excellent. Mr. Abbott said he learned a lot and his employees were extremely <br /> attentive and asked lots of questions. He said the class not only trained on how to <br /> prevent accidents but what to do in case of an accident. Ms. Taylor and Mr. Abbott both <br /> said the class was very beneficial and helps to instill Safety in our employees. <br /> Mr. Abbott then addressed the council with an update on the Christmas lights. <br /> He said his crew was doing a great job and they hope to grow the light display every <br /> year. <br />
