Ms. Claudette Parks with the Independence County Recycling program <br /> addressed the council and requested an additional $32,000 from the City for the County <br /> recycling program. Currently the City contributes $56,700 to the County for recycling. <br /> The council asked Ms. Parks for additional information regarding the County's recycling <br /> budget and said they would consider the request during their budget process. <br /> CONSIDER TAXI FRANCHISE <br /> Mr. John Schwake with Five Star Taxi addressed the council requesting a taxi <br /> franchise with the City. Mr. Schwake said he currently has one vehicle but plans to add <br /> two more in the near future. Councilmember Matthews moved to grant the franchise <br /> and Councilmember Krug seconded. All voted for. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER BOND ORDINANCE FOR SCROLL <br /> COMPRESSORS <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh opened the public hearing at 6:00 pm to discuss the issuance <br /> of bonds for Scroll Compressors. Mr. Tom Leggett with Friday, Eldridge and Clark was <br /> present to answer questions. The hearing was closed at 6:05 pm. <br /> CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF INDUSTRIAL <br /> DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS FOR SCROLL COMPRESSORS <br /> Councilmember Matthews introduced an ordinance that would authorize the <br /> issuance of Industrial Development Bonds to finance certain industrial improvements for <br /> Scroll Compressors, LLC. Councilmember Matthews moved to read the ordinance for <br /> the first reading by title only and wave the second and thirds. Councilmember <br /> McDonald seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. Councilmember <br /> Matthews moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilmember Shetron seconded and <br />
