D) CONSIDER INCREASE WATER SERVICE FEES <br /> Mr. Larry Tharnish and Mr. Jerry Jeffery with the Batesville Water Utilities <br /> addressed the council regarding increasing water service fees. They discussed <br /> the rates and made a few changes. An ordinance will be prepared for the next <br /> meeting to adopt the rates. <br /> E) CITY AND WATER FINANCIALS <br /> The council was given a copy of the City and Water financials for the <br /> month ending August, 2007. <br /> CEMETERY RESOLUTION <br /> The council considered a cemetery resolution for John R. Myers for <br /> $1,600.00, resolution #2007-269-1. Councilmember Smart moved to accept the <br /> resolution and Councilmember Matthews seconded. All voted for. <br /> COMMENTS FROM THE MAYOR <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh asked the council to approve out of state travel for Mr. <br /> Johnny Coles and Mr. Marty Thompson to go to Decatur, Alabama for their <br /> annual stoplight training. Councilmember Terrell moved to approve the out of <br /> state travel and Councilmember Smart seconded. All vote for. <br /> The Mayor said he was expecting the legal description of the land for the <br /> new fire station and hopes to close on the property soon. <br /> The Mayor reported on the recent visit with the dignities from our Sister <br /> City, Putian City, China. He said everything went well and he thanked <br /> Councilmembers Matthews and Terrell for their hard work getting ready for our <br /> visitors and also the local business for all their help and support. <br />
