Councilmember Matthews seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 <br /> against. The council asked Mr. Zach Mobley, who developed the street, about <br /> his plans of extending the street and if there was a cul-de-sac at the end for fire <br /> trucks to turn around. Mr. Mobley said they will at some point extend the road if <br /> they develop the adjoining land. He also said there was a gravel cul-de-sac that <br /> could be used by the fire department. Councilmember Terrell moved to adopt <br /> the ordinance and Councilmember Matthews seconded. The roll call count was <br /> 8 for and 0 against. The ordinance was given #2006-4-1. <br /> COMMENTS FROM DEPARTMENT HEADS <br /> Mr. Randy Palmer, Parks and Recreation Department Supervisor, <br /> addressed the council regarding the proposed smoking ordinance. Mr. Palmer <br /> said he was addressing the council on behalf of citizens that use the city's parks <br /> and have approached him about the issue. Mr. Palmer said the pools are <br /> already smoke free inside the fenced areas but smoking is allowed outside the <br /> fences. He said there are currently no smoking signs at the North Complex and <br /> most of the people comply with the signs. Mr. Palmer said he did not see a <br /> problem making Fitzhugh Park non smoking but was concerned with making <br /> Riverside Park and the Golf Course non-smoking and if imposed how it would be <br /> enforced. <br /> MAYOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mayor Biard recognized Ms. Sherry Ridout with Loud and Clear <br /> Productions.
