MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> NOVEMBER 15, 2005 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on November 15, at 5:30 PM <br /> at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember <br /> Carpenter gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following councilmembers answered <br /> present: R.L. Carpenter, John Cooke, Fred Krug, Doug Matthews, Dana Mynatt, <br /> Stephen Smart and Paula Terrell. Also present were the City Clerk and the City <br /> Attorney. Councilmember Jerry Pectol was absent. <br /> Councilmember Matthews moved to approve the minutes from the previous <br /> meeting and Councilmember Mynatt seconded. All voted for. <br /> Councilmember Smart moved to approve the prepared agenda as amended. <br /> Councilmember Krug seconded and all voted for. <br /> PRESENTATION TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> Mayor Biard presented to the Batesville Fire Department monies from the State <br /> of Arkansas General Improvement Funds. $5,000 was given to the Batesville Fire <br /> Department and $10,000 to the White River Fire Training Center. Mayor Biard said <br /> State Representative David Wyatt gave him the checks today to be distributed to the <br /> entities. <br /> PROPOSAL BY FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION <br /> Mr. Gary Baker and Ms. Debby Shaver addressed the council regarding funding <br /> for the Family Violence Prevention. Before their presentation began, Mayor Biard said <br /> that the City was prohibited to give monies to charity organizations. With that said Mr. <br /> Baker and Ms. Shaver gave the council some general information about their <br /> organization and said that if in the future the laws change, they would like to be <br /> considered for support. <br />
