DISCUSSION OF SIGN ORDINANCE <br /> Councilmember Carpenter introduced the proposed sign ordinance. <br /> Councilmember Terrell moved to place it on the first reading by title only and <br /> Councilmember Carpenter seconded. All voted for. <br /> After the reading, the council discussed the ordinance and opened the floor for <br /> audience participation. The ordinance will be placed on the next meeting's agenda for <br /> the second reading. <br /> DISCUSSION OF UNIFORM PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF ORDINANCES <br /> Councilmember Matthews introduced an ordinance that would establish uniform <br /> penalties for violations of all City ordinances. The ordinance was read by title only. The <br /> council asked the City Attorney to look over the ordinance and give his opinion at the <br /> next meeting. <br /> REFERRAL OF REQUEST FROM PLANNING COMMISSION TO HAVE ATTORNEY <br /> STEVE GILES UPDATE THE CITY SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS <br /> The Planning Commission asked the council to consider having Attorney Steve <br /> Giles update the city subdivision regulations. Mr. Giles said he could update the <br /> regulations for less than $1,000.00 Councilmember Smart moved to hire Mr. Giles to <br /> get the subdivision regulations up to date but not to exceed $1,000.00. Councilmember <br /> Carpenter seconded and the roll call count was 6 for and 1 (Krug) against. <br /> CONSIDER 2006 BUDGET <br /> The council discussed the proposed 2006 budget. According to the news, the <br /> council is proposing a 3% pay increase and that amount is not reflected in the Metro <br /> Budget. The City Clerk said she would try to get those figures before the next meeting. <br /> The council then discussed going out for bids for the city health insurance. <br />
