The council asked the sheriff to continue monitoring different areas in the city and <br /> continue writing citations for excess speeding. <br /> AIRPORT COMMISSIONER CHARLES BARNETT TO DISCUSS USAGE OF A <br /> HANGER BY THE EXPERIMENTAL AVIATION ASSOCIATION <br /> Commissioner Charles Barnett was not present for the meeting so Airport Manager Mary <br /> Amos addressed the council. Mrs. Amos said she had not prepared to discuss the EAA with the <br /> council but would try to answer any questions. Mrs. Amos said our local chapter of the <br /> Experimental Aviation Association has 20 to 25 paid members and is an organization that <br /> educates the youth about aviation. Since the groups inception in this area about 15 years ago, <br /> they have taken more that 1,000 children in plain rides and encouraged youth to get involved in <br /> aviation. The EAA is asking to use the Hopwood hanger for their meetings, to build airplanes <br /> etc. The EAA will put about $15,000 to reconstruct the hanger. The council said they would <br /> like to talk to Mr. Barnett about the issue at the next meeting. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENTS <br /> The council was given a copy of the financial statement for August 31, 2004. <br /> PAID BILLS REPORT <br /> The council was given a copy of the paid bills report for August 2004. <br /> There being no further business, Councilmember Watkins moved that the meeting be <br /> adjourned.
