MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> APRIL 13, 2004 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on April 13, at 5:30 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember <br /> Watkins gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered <br /> present: Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry <br /> Pectol, Paula Terrell and Jim Watkins. Also present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston <br /> and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Gaither seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember <br /> Watkins seconded and all voted for. <br /> UPDATE ON WHITE RIVER MEDICAL CENTER - GARY BEBOW <br /> Mr. Gary Bebow, administrator of the White River Center, addressed the council <br /> to give an update on the Josephine Raye Rogers Center for Women Imagining. Mr. <br /> Bebow said the project is in its 8th month and is progressing well. The council watched a <br /> slide show regarding the project as well as other stats from the hospital. <br /> QUESTIONS REGARDING SIGN ON E.M.S. DRIVE <br /> Ms. Myra Wood asked the council to approve speed limits signs of 20 MPH on <br /> E.M.S. Drive. Ms. Wood said vehicles drive at excessive speeds and there are at this <br /> time no signs on the street. Sheriff Bowers said he thought 20 MPH would be a good <br /> speed to enforce. Councilmember Ford moved to place the 20 MPH signs on E.M.S <br /> Drive. Councilmember Pectol seconded and all voted for. <br />
