MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> MARCH 9, 2004 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on March 9, at 5:30 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember <br /> Watkins gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered <br /> present: Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry <br /> Pectol, Paula Terrell and Jim Watkins. Also present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston <br /> and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Cargill seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda as amended. <br /> Councilmember Gaither seconded and all voted for. <br /> CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE FINANCING FOR A NEW <br /> SANITATION TRUCK <br /> Councilmember Gaither introduced an ordinance that would authorize the <br /> financing of sanitation equipment with White River Planning and Development. Mayor <br /> Biard read the ordinance in full. Councilmember Watkins moved to suspend the rules <br /> and wave the second and third readings. Councilmember Ford seconded and the roll call <br /> count was 8 for and 0 against. Councilmember Watkins moved to adopt the ordinance <br /> and Councilmember Terrell seconded. The roll count was 8 for and 0 against. The <br /> ordinance was given 42004-3-1. Mayor Biard said the City received one bid for the <br /> sanitation truck from McNeilus for $145,900.00. The council gave Mayor Biard the <br /> authority to negotiate an extended warranty for the new truck. The annual payments will <br /> be approximately $28,000.00 annually for 5 years. <br />
