MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> JANUARY 13, 2004 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on January 13, at 5:30 PM at <br /> the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember <br /> Gaither gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered <br /> present: R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jerry Pectol, Paula Terrell and Jim <br /> Watkins. Councilmembers Cargill and Mitchum were absent. Also present were the City <br /> Clerk Denise Johnston and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Pectol seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda as amended. <br /> Councilmember Gaither seconded and all voted for. <br /> SHERIFF'S REPORT <br /> The council reviewed the monthly sheriff's report for December 31, 2003. <br /> REQUEST BY UTILITIES DEPARTMENT TO REPLACE AND UPSIZE <br /> WATER MAIN IN RUDDELL HILL AREA <br /> Mr. Larry Tharnish, Utilities Manager, and Mr. Dave Stallings, Utilities <br /> Commissioner, addressed the council with a request to replace and upsize a water main in <br /> the Ruddell Hill Area. Mr. Stallings said Ruddell Hill Baptist Church was building a <br /> Family Life Center and the current water line is not sufficient. He also said the current <br /> lines runs under Hwy. 106 and has given them problems in the past. Ruddell Hill Baptist <br /> Church is paying for a portion of the materials at a cost of$1,376.00. The cost for the <br /> Water Utilities will be $830.00. Councilmember Watkins moved to approve the upgrade <br /> and Councilmember Gaither seconded. All voted for. <br />
