MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> MAY 27, 2003 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on May 27, at 5:30 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember Ford <br /> gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered present: <br /> Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry Pectol, <br /> Paula Terrell. Councilmember Jim Watkins was absent. Also present were the City <br /> Clerk Denise Johnston and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Gaither seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember <br /> Cargill seconded and all voted for. <br /> CONSIDER REQUEST FOR TWO METERS OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS FOR <br /> UTILITIES <br /> Mr. Larry Tharnish and Mr. Jerry Jeffrey addressed the council with two meter <br /> requests outside the city limits of Batesville. One is located on Mitchell Lane just off of <br /> Highway 69 North and the other is just off of Ruddell Hill Circle. Mr. Tharnish said <br /> there was sufficient water pressure for both meters. Councilmember Gaither moved to <br /> approve the two meters and Councilmember Cargill seconded. All voted for. <br /> DISCUSSION OF RESCUE VEHICLE <br /> Mayor Biard and Fire Chief James Boothby informed the council that the bids for <br /> the new rescue vehicle were opened last week. There were only two bids with <br /> Independence Ford having the low bid. However, the date for ordering a 2003 model has <br />
