All <br /> voted for. <br /> CONSIDER ORDINANCE TO UPDATE FIRE CODES <br /> Mayor Biard read an ordinance to adopt the 2002 Arkansas Fire Code. Councilmember <br /> Ford moved to suspend the rules for the second and third reading. Councilmember Watkins <br /> seconded and the roll call count was 6 for and 0 against. Councilmember Watkins moved to <br /> adopt the ordinance and Councilmember Ford seconded. The roll call count was 6 for and 0 <br /> against. The ordinance was given 42003-7-2. Councilmember Mitchum moved to adopt the <br /> emergency clause and Councilmember Watkins seconded. All voted for. <br /> FINANCIAL REPORTS <br /> The council was given a copy of the financial statement for June 30, 2003. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> The council discussed the condition of the house located at 5th and Vine Streets. Mr. <br /> Carpenter said the Water Carnival is next weekend and the property needs to be cleaned up. The <br /> council instructed the City Attorney to contact Mr. Brodie's attorney and see about getting the <br /> property cleaned up. <br /> The council also instructed the City Attorney to contact the attorney for Cox <br /> Communications regarding the cable franchise and report to them at the next meeting. <br /> There being no further business, Councilmember Mitchum moved that the meeting be <br /> adjourned.
