L U <br /> ® (3) An adequate and permanent method of handling relief vent discharge and <br /> test water discharge shall be provided. <br /> (4) Clear unobstructed space for the relief vent shall be provided to prevent the <br /> vent from becoming blocked or flooded. <br /> C. DDCVA & DCVA Installation <br /> (1) The assembly shall not be installed below grade, unless the following <br /> criteria can be met and accepted by the Approving Authority: <br /> (a) The vault and its installation shall be approved by BWU before <br /> the start of construction. <br /> (b) The vault shall not be subject to flooding. <br /> (c) The walls of the vault shall extend above the finished grade a <br /> minimum of 3" to prevent intrusion of water or dirt. <br /> (d) The vault shall be water-tight to prevent intrusion of water or dirt. <br /> (e) The vault shall drain to daylight through an adequate and <br /> • permanent gravity drain with a slope of at least 1 degree. <br /> Installation plans shall show the elevation of the vault floor and the <br /> area the water will drain to. Plans shall show drainage pipe depth <br /> and location. Drainage pipe size shall be two inches larger than the <br /> blow-off. Protection on the drainage outlet shall be provided to <br /> prevent undesirable creatures from entering. <br /> (f) The vault cover shall be removable to allow full access to the vault. <br /> A minimum of two lifting points shall be provided. <br /> (g) An access door shall be installed in the vault cover on the testable <br /> side of the assembly. Approved doors shall be similar or equal to <br /> Bilco or Halladay and shall be a minimum of 24" x 24". <br /> (h) Directly below the access door, provide steps in the vault wall <br /> similar or equal to ICM Plastic Manhole Steps. Steps are 1/2 inch <br /> steel reinforced rod encapsulated in special polypropylene plastic. <br /> (2) Minimum installation clearance dimensions shall be 30 inches between the <br /> assembly and corresponding wall and 12 inches on the opposite side, 8 <br /> inches on each end, 6 inches above the highest point and 12 inches under <br /> 21 <br />
