` L <br /> • (2) Piping connected to the assembly shall not be used for electrical grounding. <br /> (3) Piping connected to the assembly shall be thoroughly flushed before <br /> installing the assembly. <br /> (4) An adequate and permanent method of test water disposal shall be <br /> provided. <br /> (5) A pressure relief valve shall be properly installed and maintained on all <br /> water heating apparatus served by the assembly. <br /> (6) The assembly installation shall be protected from vandalism and freezing. <br /> Heating and electrical wiring detail shall be similar or equal to "Hot Box". <br /> (7) Adequate support, excluding water lines, shall be provided for assemblies <br /> that are 3" or larger. <br /> (8) If not part of the approved assembly, an approved strainer shall be installed <br /> on the inlet side of the assembly prior to the assembly isolation valve, so <br /> that all water must pass through the strainer immediately before entering <br /> the assembly. <br /> • (9) An approved blow-off shall be installed on stagnate flow 4-inch or larger <br /> water lines immediately after the assembly, to allow for flushing the <br /> assembly. Four-inch through ten-inch assemblies shall have a blow-off not <br /> less than 2-inches in diameter. Assemblies larger than 10-inch shall have a <br /> minimum 4-inch blow-off. Blow-offs installed in vaults shall have piping <br /> into the existing vault drain to prevent splashing. Blow-offs in vaults may <br /> also be routed above grade and away from the vault, however, a self <br /> draining feature must be incorporated to prevent freezing damage to the <br /> blow-off piping. <br /> ' (10) If the assembly cannot be installed in the prescribed manner for any reason, <br /> the proposed deviations shall be submitted to BWU for review and <br /> approval before installation. <br /> B.
