RESOLUTION NO . RESOLUTION FOR GRANT OF LANDS TO WHITE RIVER HERITAGE CENTER, INC . WHEREAS, White River Heritage Center , Inc . , a corporation, organized under the Non-profit Corporation Act of Arkansas (Act 176 of 1963 as amended) has undertaken to establish for the use and benefit of the general public a center for the preservation, study and display of national , regional and local history and culture and display of the arts and has undertaken to obtain the lands and funds with which to construct this project ; and, WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of Batesville , Arkansas, and its surrounding environs to establish the facility contemplated ; and, WHEREAS, the acquisition of lands is necessary to the construction of said facility; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Batesville , Arkansas : THAT, the City of Batesville will grant to White River Heritage Center a leasehold interest of ninety-nine (99 ) years duration in the following lands situate in Independence County, Arkansas , to-wit : (a) A one acre tract adjacent to Lock No . l ; (b ) 20 acres , more or less , in the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 22 , and the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 21 , Range 7 West , Township 13 North; (c ) Easements and lands as necessary for a hiking and bicycle path and mini-parks ; (d) Access to White River at Kennedy Park, which lands will be granted when required by the authority or agency to which White River Heritage Center may apply for a grant of funds for construction of the various phases of its project , may for its grant purposes require.
