RESOLUTION NO . RESOLUTION FOR GRANT OF LANDS TO WHITE RIVER HERITAGE CENTER, INC . WHEREAS, White River Heritage Center , Inc . , a corporation, organized under the Non-profit Corporation Act of Arkansas (.Act 176 of 1963 as amended) has undertaken to establish for the use and benefit of the general public a center for the preservation, study and display of national , regional and local history and culture and display of the arts and has undertaken to obtain the lands and funds with which to construct this project ', and, WHEREAS., it is in the interest of the citizens of Batesville , Arkansas, and its surrounding environs to establish the facility contemplated; and, WHEREAS, the acquisition of lands is necessary to the construction of said facility; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Batesville , Arkansas : THAT, the City of Batesville will grant to White River Heritage Center a leasehold interest of ninety-nine (99) years duration in the following lands situate in Independence County, Arkansas , to-wit : (a) A one acre tractadjacent to Lock No . l ,- (b ) 20 acres , more or less , in the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 22 , and the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of S&ction 21 , Range 7 West , Township 13 North; (c ) Easements and lands as necessary for a hiking and bicycle path and mini-parks ; (d) Access to White River at Kennedy Park, which lands will be granted when required by the authority or agency to which White River Heritage Center may apply for a grant ,of funds for construction of the various phases of its project , may for its grant purposes require. The City may incorporate whatever conditions for reversion may be necessary and proper into the granting instrument . DATE q 77reS T.'
