MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> JUNE 9, 1998 <br /> The Batesville City Council met for its regular meeting on June 9, at 5:30 <br /> P.M. at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. <br /> Councilmember Gaither gave the invocation. Upon roll call, all the council <br /> answered present. Also present were the City Clerk and the City Attorney. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Pectol seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Bone moved to approve the prepared agenda and <br /> Councilmember Ford seconded. All voted for. <br /> REQUEST BY THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT FOR NEW COMPUTERS AT <br /> THE DISPATCHING OFFICE. <br /> Captain Gene O'Brien and Deputy Greg Wolverton addressed the council <br /> with a request for two new computers at the dispatching office. Deputy <br /> Wolverton explained that the upgrade will be required in the near future in order <br /> to receive information from the Arkansas Crime and Information Center. The City <br /> has the option of leasing the equipment from ACIC or purchasing the equipment. <br /> Mayor Biard said the City received a check from the state for training <br /> reimbursement for approximately $14,700.00, which will more than cover the <br /> costs of the computers. The estimated cost for the computers is $4,000.00. <br /> Councilmember Gaither moved to purchase the computers and Councilmember <br /> Ford seconded. All voted for. <br /> ORDINANCE TO RE-ZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R-2 TO <br /> HISTORICAL DISTRICT R-1. <br />
