MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> JULY 28, 1998 <br /> The Batesville City Council met for its regular meeting on July 28, at 5:30 <br /> P.M. at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. <br /> Councilmember Pectol gave the invocation. Upon roll call, all the council <br /> answered present. Also present were the City Clerk and the City Attorney. <br /> Councilmember Cargill moved to approve the minutes from the last <br /> meeting and Councilmember Carpenter seconded. All voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda. <br /> Councilmember Pectol seconded and all voted for. <br /> DISCUSSION OF RIVERSIDE PARK PROBLEM <br /> Captain Gene O'Brien and Sergeant Bobby Norman addressed the <br /> council to give a report on the patrolling of Riverside Park and Chaney Drive. <br /> Captain O'Brien said there were auxiliary police patrolling the park 3 to 4 nights <br /> per week. He said about 8 tickets had been issued. Mr. Dewey Rowe <br /> addressed the council with a recommendation on beautifying Riverside Park. Mr. <br /> Rowe presented a drawing and said he would donate his time for the project and <br /> he could also get a lot of the material donated for the improvements. <br /> Councilmember Cargill as well as several other Councilmember encouraged the <br /> Mayor to pursue the park improvements. Mayor Biard appointed Jim Cargill, <br /> Chairperson, Ms. Bone, Mr. Mitchum, Mr. Pectol, Mr. Gaither and Mr. Ford as a <br /> committee to meet with Mr. Rowe and recommend to the council improvements <br /> for Riverside Park. <br /> PARKING ON CASE STREET BETWEEN 17TH AND 18TH STREETS <br />
