Carpenter seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. The <br /> ordinance was given # 98-9-2. <br /> CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO WAVE THE COMPETITIVE BIDDING TO <br /> PURCHASE A FLAT BET TRUCK FOR THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT <br /> Mayor Biard read an ordinance that would wave the requirements of competitive <br /> bidding for the purchase of a flatbed truck with dump for the sanitation <br /> department. The Mayor said the city's current truck in a 1970 model and not safe <br /> to operate. The truck, which the city will purchase, is a 1987 International with a <br /> steel flat bed for$14,900.00. Councilmember Pectol moved to suspend the rules <br /> and place the ordinance on the second reading. Councilmember Bone seconded <br /> and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. The Mayor read the ordinance for <br /> the second reading and Councilmember Cargill moved to further suspend the <br /> rules and place the ordinance on the final reading. Councilmember Insell <br /> seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. The Mayor read the <br /> ordinance for the third reading and Councilmember Insell moved to adopt the <br /> ordinance and Councilmember Cargill seconded. The roll call count was 8 for <br /> and 0 against. The ordinance was given # 98-9-3. Councilmember Cargill <br /> moved to adopt the emergency clause and Councilmember Insell seconded. The <br /> roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. <br /> There being no further business, Councilmember Mitchum moved that the <br /> meeting be adjourned and Councilmember Insell seconded.
