Councilmember Mitchum said he sat at the intersection at 9t" and Vine <br /> Streets today from 2:45 P.M. to 3:15 P.M. and said 27 cars passed through the <br /> intersection on Vine Street and 9 passed through on 9t" Street. Councilmember <br /> Cargill moved to take no action and leave the stop signs as they are. <br /> Councilmember Carpenter seconded and all voted for. <br /> MAYOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mayor Biard said the projected cost for the Highway 106 improvement is <br /> $845,000 of which $211,000 will be the City's share. Because of the large <br /> expense the council asked the Mayor to write a letter to the Arkansas Highway <br /> and Transportation Department and say that the City would not be interested in <br /> participating in the Highway 106 repair. <br /> The Mayor said he was expecting a portable radar unit this Thursday to <br /> use for 2 weeks on a trial basis. The council request that the City be in charge of <br /> the unit instead of the Sheriff's Department. <br /> The city wide leaf pick up started today. The leaf truck will run Tuesday through <br /> Friday for approximately four weeks. The truck will follow the same schedule as <br /> the trash pick-up. <br /> CONSIDER A CONDEMNATION PROCESS <br /> Mayor Biard asked the council to start the condemnation process on <br /> property located off lower Main Street. The property is being used as an illegal <br /> dump. Councilmember Gaither moved to proceed with the condemnation <br /> process and Councilmember Pectol seconded. All voted for. <br />
