The Mayor said they have <br /> offered the land to the City if we would develop it within the next 3 to 5 years. <br /> The Mayor said the City should be able to find a grant to help develop the area <br /> into a possible biking trail and possibly a canoeing area. Councilmember Cargill <br /> moved for the Mayor to accept the offer and go forward with searching for a grant <br /> to develop the property. Councilmember Carpenter seconded and all voted for. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The council was given a copy of the financial statement for the month <br /> ending June 30, 1999. <br /> CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PLANNING <br /> COMMISSION MEMBERS FROM 5 TO 7 <br /> Mayor Biard read an ordinance that would increase the number of <br /> Planning Commission Members from 5 to 7. Councilmember Bone moved to <br /> suspend the rules and place the ordinance on the second reading. <br /> Councilmember Carpenter seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 <br /> against. The Mayor read the ordinance for the second reading. Councilmember <br /> Cargill moved to further suspend the rules and place the ordinance on the final <br /> reading. Councilmember Carpenter seconded and the roll call count was 8 for <br /> and 0 against.
