Mrs. Sharon Taylor, City Safety Director, addressed the council regarding
the A.D.A. Lawsuit filed against Batesville and several other cities in Arkansas.
Mrs. Taylor said the most expensive part in becoming A.D.A compliant will be the
sidewalks in the downtown area. All of the Departments in the City need work to
become compliant. Mrs. Taylor said the Parks Department has several areas
that need to be corrected and some have already been completed. The Mayor
said funds will have to be appropriated in the 2000 budget to work on becoming
A.D.A. compliant.
REVIEW BILLS
After a review of the bills, Councilmember Insell moved to pay the bills and
Councilmember Gaither seconded. All voted for.
There being no further business, Councilmember Mitchum moved that the
meeting be adjourned. Councilmember Insell seconded and all voted for.
JOE M. BIARD, MAYOR
DENISE M. JOHNSTON, CITY CLERK
