Chambers goal was to be total funded by private contribution within the next few <br /> years. <br /> AIRPORT COMMISSION <br /> Dr. Don Gillchrist, Chairman of the Airport Commission, addressed the <br /> council to discuss the financial needs of the City's Airport. Dr. Gillchrist said it <br /> would help the airports finances if the City could put the airport manager on its <br /> payroll. The salary is $22,000.00. If the city would agree to Dr. Gillchrist <br /> request, the total request from the airport will be $42,000.00. <br /> PRESENTATION OF FIRST READING ON UTILITY WATER RATES <br /> Councilmember Cargill introduced an ordinance that would repeal <br /> ordinance # 91-1-3 fixing rates for water to be furnished by the waterworks <br /> system of the City of Batesville. Mayor Biard read the ordinance in full. <br /> PRESENTATION OF FIRST READING ON UTILITY SEWER RATES <br /> Councilmember Insell introduced an ordinance that would amend <br /> ordinance # 90-12-1 with respect to the establishment of rates for sewer services <br /> and other matters. The Mayor read the ordinance in full. The council then <br /> listened to a presentation by the water utility. Councilmember Carpenter moved <br /> to take a 10 minute break and Councilmember Insell seconded. All voted for. <br /> The presentation resumed and the Mayor noted that the public hearing regarding <br /> the utility increase is scheduled for the next council meeting. <br /> SECOND READING ON ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to place the ordinance on the second <br /> reading.
