MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> APRIL 24, 2001 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on April 24, at 5:30 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember Watkins gave <br /> the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered present: Dana Bone, <br /> Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry Pectol and Jim <br /> Watkins. Also present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. <br /> Councilmember Gaither seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda and Councilmember Gaither <br /> seconded. All voted for. <br /> DISCUSS REPLACING GREENS AT GOLF COURSE <br /> Mr. Randy Palmer, Director of the Parks Department, informed the council that when <br /> they uncovered the greens they discovered that the greens were dead. After consulting with <br /> specialist he said there were several factors that killed the greens. Mr. Palmer said that after <br /> much thought they decided to till up the greens and put new sod on the greens. If they had used <br /> sprigs it would take about 12 weeks to bring back the greens compared to 4 weeks with laying <br /> the sod. Palmer said the City has not lost any greens in the past 27 years. The cost to lay the sod <br /> will be approximately $12,000.00. Mr. Palmer told the council that they would probably have to <br /> revise his budget at the end of the year because of this unexpected expenditure. <br /> DEPARTMENT SUPERVISORS AND COUNCIL TO DISCUSS VEHICLE USAGE <br /> The council discussed with city department heads regarding who should drive City vehicles to <br /> and from work. The discussion of not allowing city vehicles to be used for personnel use was <br /> also addressed. After a lengthy discussion, the following employees were approved to drive city <br />
