PRESENTATION OF WHITE RIVER PAGEANT ASSOCIATION <br /> Mrs. Wynette Baker and Mrs. Debby King addressed the council to <br /> request an additional $600.00 in scholarship money for the Miss Batesville <br /> Pageant. Mrs. Baker explained that the White River Pageant Association <br /> recently decided to move the Miss Batesville Pageant and the younger <br /> categories from the usual January date to the week of the Water Carnival. <br /> Because of the change, there will be two Miss Batesville pageants this year. <br /> Councilmember Bone moved to approve the additional $600 to come out of the <br /> public relations line item. Councilmember Carpenter seconded and all voted for. <br /> PRESENTATION ON DRUG TESTING — SAFETY DIRECTOR SHARON <br /> TAYLOR <br /> Safety Director Sharon Taylor showed the council a video tape on oral <br /> collections for drug testing. Mrs. Taylor and Mr. John Baxter, Director of HDS, a <br /> company who the City could purchase the oral drug screen kits from, addressed <br /> the council to answer any questions regarding the drug testing. After a <br /> discussion, Councilmember Cargill moved for the Safety Director to draft a drug <br /> testing policy for the council to consider. Councilmember Carpenter seconded <br /> and all voted for. The consensus is to adopt a policy to have in place by January <br /> 1, 2002. <br /> There being no further business, Councilmember Mitchum moved that the <br /> meeting be adjourned.
