seconded. Mayor Elumbaugh asked the Chamber of Commerce Tourism <br /> Director, Mr. Kyle Christopher, to address the council regarding the <br /> proposed ordinances. Mr. Christopher said all of the local hotel and motel <br /> owners are in favor of the ordinances and no citizens of Batesville or <br /> Independence County have voiced any opposition. Councilmember <br /> Henley said she felt like the ordinance had been discussed several times <br /> and anyone in opposition would have had plenty of time to notify the City <br /> or their council representative. The electronic vote regarding the tableting <br /> of the ordinance was 2 for (Shetron and Poole) and 3 against (Crafton, <br /> Henley and Hubbard). The motion failed. City Attorney Meitzen read the <br /> ordinance in full.
