UPDATE ON LARRY LITTLE PROPERTY AT 9TH & OAK STREETS <br /> Mr. Larry Little was present to report to the council on the work that has been done on the <br /> property at 9th & Oak Streets. Mr. Little informed the council that he still needed more time to work on <br /> this property to bring it up to code. Code Enforcement Officer Chad McClure showed the council some <br /> pictures of the work that had been done. Councilmember Mitchum made a motion to allow 30 more days <br /> and Councilmember Cargill seconded. All voted for. <br /> REPORT ON MARVIN HOTEL PROPERTY - LOWER MAIN STREET <br /> Mr. Chad McClure gave the council a progress report on the work to remove the debris from the <br /> former Marvin Hotel located on lower Main Street, which was destroyed by fire last year. Mr. McClure <br /> showed the council some pictures and told them that some work had been done to remove the debris. Mr. <br /> Eddie Lumpkin, owner of the property, was not present for questioning. Councilmember Cargill made a <br /> motion for a follow up progress report and or Mr. Lumpkin to be present at the next council meeting, <br /> which will be September 10. Councilmember Gaither seconded and all voted for. Mr. McClure will send <br /> a certified letter informing Mr. Lumpkin of the councils actions. <br /> REPORT FROM JIM NOORDHOEK FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2598 CASE STREET <br /> Mr. Chad McClure told the council that Mr. Noordhoek could not be present because of illness, <br /> but told Mr. McClure that he had been approved for a loan. The council discussed a resolution which <br /> would condemn the structure located at 2598 Case Street, which had been tabled at the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Watkins made a motion to adopt the resolution and Councilmember Cargill seconded. <br /> All voted for. The resolution was given 42002-8-4-R. <br /> UPDATE ON PROPERTIES PREVIOUSLY DISCUSSED <br /> The council was brought up to date on some properties that had been discussed at previous <br /> meetings. The first property is located at 5th & Vine Street. This property is owned by Mr. Brodie. After <br /> some discussion the council instructed Mr. McClure to prepare a resolution and have it ready for the <br /> Septemeber 10th council meeting to start condemnation proceeding. The second property that was <br /> discussed was at the corner of Hwy. 106 & Davis Lane. The Mayor informed the council that he had <br /> received a letter from the owner in regards to this property. The letter stated that the estimates that they <br /> had received to tear down the structure were in their opinion high. They ask for more time to see if they <br /> could get it done cheaper. <br /> MAYOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />
