• If the investigation of the harassment allegation finds acts of harassment, <br /> immediate corrective action will be taken. <br /> • If the investigation of the harassment allegation does not find acts of <br /> harassment, the involved parties will be notified. <br /> Disciplinary Action - Disciplinary action will be taken accordingly, up to and <br /> including discharge, when an investigation warrants. <br /> F. ALCOHOL AND DRUGS <br /> The City of Batesville is committed to providing a drug-free work place, which <br /> emphasizes our belief that safety and health is essential to the well-being of our <br /> employees. Drug or alcohol abuse poses a serious risk, not only to the individual <br /> but to other employees and our citizens as well. It is the policy of the City that <br /> the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of a <br /> controlled substance while on duty or on City property by its employees is <br /> prohibited. Employees will not keep non-prescription controlled substances on <br /> City property at any time. <br /> Substance abuse by an employee, identified as a result of random or requested <br /> testing, is grounds for immediate termination. Refusal to take a drug test may <br /> also be cause for termination. <br /> All City employees are required to take and pass a pre-employment drug test, <br /> and will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing thereafter. Other times <br /> they will be tested for drugs or alcohol include: post-accident, reasonable <br /> suspicion, return to duty, and follow-up under DOT guidelines. <br /> If an employee is involved in a vehicular accident in which post-accident testing <br /> is required, all DOT guidelines will be followed. <br /> Employees with alcohol and/or drug problems are encouraged to seek <br /> professional assistance. <br /> G. SMOKING <br /> The City of Batesville is committed to providing a healthy, comfortable and <br /> productive work environment for its employees. Growing scientific evidence <br /> suggests that not only is cigarette smoking harmful to the health of smokers, but <br /> is also detrimental to the health of non-smokers. <br /> Pursuant to Batesville City Ordinance No. 2015-04-02, smoking, use of <br /> smokeless tobacco products, and use of electronic smoking devices shall be <br /> prohibit in all places owned by the City of Batesville, including but not limited to, <br /> the following places: Parks; Sports venues, including fields and arenas; <br /> 441 <br />
