Use of smokeless tobacco products, use of electronic smoking <br /> devices, and smoking or carrying lighted cigarettes, pipes and cigars shall be <br /> prohibited within a reasonable distance of 25 feet outside entrances, operable <br /> windows and ventilation systems of enclosed areas where smoking or the use of <br /> e-cigarettes is prohibited. Smoking, use of smokeless tobacco products, and use <br /> of electronic smoking devices shall be allowed in outdoor designated smoking <br /> areas. <br /> The City does not attempt to ban smoking entirely. Rather, we hope to promote <br /> an awareness of the concerns of non-smokers, asking smokers to be responsible <br /> to the needs of those who find close proximity to smoke objectionable. NO-SMOKING AREAS <br /> Pursuant to Act 8 of 2006, The Clean Indoor Air Act, smoking is strictly prohibited <br /> inside any City-owned building or City-owned vehicle. <br /> 2. SMOKING AREAS <br /> Smoking outside the building is permitted if the smokers are not in the immediate <br /> doorway that others have to pass through to enter the building. <br /> H. VISITORS IN RESTRICTED AREAS <br /> Because of the potentially dangerous work performed in many of our work areas, <br /> non-employees in these areas may be at risk for injury. It is, therefore, each <br /> employee's responsibility to ensure the safety of any authorized visitors (family, <br /> friends, and business contacts) by keeping them out of our hazardous work <br /> areas. The City will not be responsibility for injuries to visitors. <br /> I. PERSONAL APPEARANCE <br /> The City of Batesville believes it is important to establish and maintain a proper <br /> business atmosphere in its offices. This is partially accomplished by the image <br /> its employee's project, as well as their business conduct. The employees should <br /> dress in a manner consistent with the nature of the work being done.
