MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> MAY 16, 2017 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on May 16th at 5:30 pm at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Rick Elumbaugh presided over the meeting. Mr. Johnathan <br /> Abbott gave the invocation. Upon roll call, the following Councilmembers answered <br /> present; Chris Beller, Tommy Bryant, Sonya Crafton, Margaret Henley, Paige Hubbard, <br /> Doug Matthews, Chris Poole and David Shetron. Also present were the City Clerk <br /> Denise Johnston and City Attorney Tim Meitzen. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the minutes from the previous <br /> meeting. Councilmember Henley seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember <br /> Hubbard seconded and all voted for. <br /> CITIZENS COMMENTS <br /> None <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> None <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> A) POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> Police Chief Alan Cockrill addressed the council with his department's monthly <br /> report. The report showed 38 accidents, 64 incidents, 17 misdemeanor arrests and <br /> 15 felony arrests. The Chief said he was fully staffed but will be sending 4 to the <br /> academy in August. The classes last fourteen weeks. Chief Cockrill said he has <br /> started a bike and foot patrol shift on the walking trails at Riverside Park from 5:00 <br /> pm to dark. He said there have been no incidents but he wanted to be proactive to <br />
