MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br />APRIL 10, 2018 <br /> <br />The Batesville City Council met in regular session on April 20 th at 5:30 pm at the Municipal <br />Building. Mayor Rick Elumbaugh presided over the meeting. Utility Billing Supervisor Nick <br />Baxter gave the invocation. Upon roll call, the following Councilmembers answered present; <br />Chris Beller, Tommy Bryant, Sonya Crafton, Margaret Henley, Doug Matthews, Chris Poole <br />and David Shetron. Also present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston and City Attorney Tim <br />Meitzen. Councilmember Paige Hubbard was absent. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the minutes from the previous me eting. <br />Councilmember Henley seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember <br />Beller seconded and all voted for. <br />CITIZENS COMMENTS <br /> None <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A) POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />Police Chief Alan Cockrill addressed the council with his March, 2018 monthly report. <br />Chief Cockrill’s report showed 75 incident reports, 41 arrests and 42 accidents. The <br />Chief said they had recently recertified 3 of their police dogs and retired one dog. He <br />said he would be asking soon to replace the retired dog. Chief Cockrill said he has <br />one position open, but has an interview already scheduled and hopes to have it filled <br />soon. The Chief said his department will be extra busy this coming wee kend with the <br />Scottish Festival at Lyon College. <br />B) ENGINEER’S REPORT
